Spice up your life to melt fat

This month we will be taking a look at the effect taking cinnamon can have on your body composition,it’s natural, cheap and tastes pretty good too. Trainers across the world know about cinnamons benefits but outside of the fitness industry it’s relatively unknown. Read on to find out why and how to use this awesome spice.
It’s now becoming pretty common knowledge that it’s not fat that’s the main cause of obesity but the overconsumption of carbs leading to insulin resistance which in turn shuttles carbs to fat cells instead of into the muscles, for more info on this check my article Understanding insulin to improve body composition.
The polyphenols from cinnamon are insulin sensitisers and antioxidants so not only a great fat loss aid but extremely good for general health. I find the most effective way to supplement cinnamon for fat loss is to make a cinnamon tea with EVERY meal 1/4 to 1/2 a teaspoon in hot water. Bear in mind this must be used with an insulin reset protocol (again read my insulin article on how to do this) to reverse insulin resistance. Also cinnamon is effective on a fat loss diet to speed up results or as a general health supplement. So in conclusion EVERYONE should be taking it and no cinnamon bagels don’t count ;). Give it a go I’d be interested to hear your experience with this.

The science behind the spice
4 groups of 22 rats were fed for 12 weeks
-Group 1 on a high fat, high fructose diet to induce insulin resistance.
-Group 2 on the same diet but on 20g of cinnamon.
-Group 3 on a controlled diet.
-Group 4 on a controlled diet with 20g of cinnamon.
The results showed a decrease in glucose infusion (insulin resistance) in group 1. Group 2 had the same glucose infusion efficiency of group 3. Group 4 had increased glucose infusion.
In summary this shows cinnamon can use be used to lessen the damage on a bad diet and improve insulin sensitivity, but for best results eat a controlled diet in conjunction with supplementing cinnamon.

Great blog post! Always surprising to see relevant articles that put things into a different perspective rather than just repeating what we already heard.
I personally was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes on put on Insulin on February 4th, 2015,
but I’m not letting it hold me back – things like natural management methods and altering my lifestyle have helped.

Anyway, I hope this guide gets more commenters and I’m posting it to my social media.

Keep it up!
